Pros of setting up shop at local coffee house on my working-from-home day:

-Mooching off their wi-fi is way better than mooching off my neighbors' wi-fi.

-Forces me to get out of my pajamas before noon.

-Three words: Iced. Caramel. Latte. Mmmm.

-Actually feel like I am a member of society, rather than hermit-type person holed up in my apartment all day.

-Am more likely to be productive when other people are watching.

-Am not tempted to eat entire contents of my fridge in a fit of boredom.

-The Cat Power album I've played so much that I've become sick of it suddenly sounds fresh when coming out of different speakers.

-Because I came of age in the '90s, and tapping away on your iBook while sipping an expensive coffee is just cool, dammit.

Cons of setting up shop at local coffee house on my working-from-home day:

-Have to get out of my pajamas before noon.

-Spend way too much time daydreaming about what it would be like to own my own independent coffee house, how I would decorate it, etc.

-Whole point of working from home was to save money on gas, and not spending $4 on a gallon of gasoline is pretty much negated by spending $4 on a cup of coffee.

-I never have caffeine, and therefore one cup of coffee turns me into Jessie freaking Spano.

-Despite my earlier assertion, feel slightly self-conscious about being a walking advertisement for Stuff White People Like.

Also, I smell like a coffee house for the rest of the day. I haven't decided yet if this is a pro or a con.
